ZEUS® round-the-clock protection

A modern security concept is now essential for organisations and public buildings. The ZEUS® Access Control system ensures reliable 24/7 protection of your employees, guests, facilities and operational equipment. At the same time, it safeguards sensitive data and intellectual property from unauthorised access.

Access control today goes far beyond simply opening and closing doors. It is a central component of modern security architectures and helps organisations reliably comply with regulatory requirements such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and NIS2.

Your individual security requirements, structural conditions and legal obligations such as fire protection and escape route regulations are fully taken into account. To ensure optimal protection, we advise on badge and transponder technologies, biometric identification as well as hybrid security concepts combining online and offline components. This results in a solution tailored precisely to your organisation.

The electronic access plan

The electronic access plan forms the foundation for transparency in access management. It provides a real-time overview of who is authorised to open specific doors or enter defined building areas. Temporary permissions, for example for projects, visitors or external contractors, can be assigned directly and controlled by time. This reduces manual processes while increasing security in day-to-day operations.

Access readers and digital locking technology for security at every door

Whether vandal-resistant on the building perimeter, design-oriented for interior areas or discreetly integrated into existing switch systems, the ISGUS portfolio offers suitable readers and components for every structural requirement. The combination of access readers, digital locking cylinders and SmartHandles enables flexible protection even where cabling is not possible or economically viable.

Offline locking cylinders are kept up to date via Access on Card. Access rights are written directly onto the credential and validated upon use. Optional wireless networking turns these components into fully integrated online devices with central control and logging. Supported identification technologies include MIFARE DESFire and LEGIC advant. Organisations can choose between individually designed company ID cards or robust key fob transponders.

Biometric security

For particularly sensitive areas, Access Control can be extended with biometric methods. Fingerprint recognition enables the unambiguous identification of authorised individuals. A distinction is made between identification and verification. In verification mode, the fingerprint is additionally combined with a transponder or personal PIN, significantly increasing security and reducing the potential for misuse.

Efficiency and audit readiness

Access rights are automatically suggested and structured based on the inheritance principle. This simplifies administration, particularly in large organisations with complex hierarchies and multiple locations.

The digital access plan documents all permissions in a transparent and audit-proof manner. Time-based and spatial changes can be scheduled precisely and traced at any time. This supports not only internal control processes but also compliance and audit requirements.

Security through alarm management

The ZEUS® Access Control centre is directly connected to the alarm management system and the security control room. Events such as emergency openings, tampering, door-open alerts or panic PIN activations are reported in real time. Security and facility management teams receive immediate notifications, for example via SMS or system alerts. This enables critical situations to be assessed instantly and appropriate measures to be initiated without delay.

Modularity

ZEUS® Access Control is fully modular and can be extended at any time with:

This allows the system to grow with your organisation and provides an end-to-end platform for security, workforce processes and facility management.

KRITIS and highly sensitive infrastructure

For operators of critical infrastructure, requirements for security, traceability and system resilience continue to increase. Sectors such as energy supply, healthcare, public administration and industry are subject to clearly defined regulatory frameworks that require precise control of access rights.

ZEUS® Access Control supports organisations in implementing these requirements in a structured way. Through clearly defined security zones, complete logging and audit-proof documentation, access management remains robust even under KRITIS and NIS2 conditions.

Particularly important is the combination of organisational separation, technical safeguards and transparent authorisation structures. This ensures that it is always clear who accessed which area, when this occurred and on what basis the permission was granted.

Even under heightened security requirements, day-to-day operations remain efficient and manageable, without adding unnecessary complexity for administrators or security managers.

Access Control in practice: secure, flexible and centrally managed

Modern Access Control must work in day-to-day operations and integrate seamlessly into existing processes. Organisations need solutions that combine security, flexibility and ease of administration.

With ZEUS® Access Control, employees, visitors and contractors are managed centrally via a single platform. Access rights can be assigned, adjusted and traced across multiple locations at any time. The electronic access plan ensures clear structures and significantly reduces administrative effort in daily operations.

In dynamic organisations, the advantages become particularly evident. New employees are automatically integrated into existing permission structures, organisational changes can be mapped without media disruptions, and temporary access can be controlled precisely.

Even complex buildings with multiple security zones and different access levels remain fully manageable at all times. The combination of digital locking components, online and offline technology, and centralised administration creates a consistent security level across all areas. This results in access management that enhances security while significantly simplifying day-to-day processes.

Answers to the most important questions about ZEUS® Access Control:

ZEUS® enables the structured segregation of security zones, comprehensive documentation of all access events and audit-proof traceability. This allows regulatory requirements such as KRITIS and NIS2 to be systematically mapped and complied with on a day-to-day basis.

The electronic access plan provides a clear overview at all times of who has access to which areas. Changes are visible immediately and can be implemented without the need for manual processes. This reduces errors and enhances security during day-to-day operations.

ZEUS® supports various identification methods, such as RFID transponders, Mifare DESFire and Legic Advant, as well as biometric methods such as fingerprint recognition. This allows the solution to be flexibly integrated into existing security systems.

Biometric methods significantly enhance security, as they are uniquely linked to a specific individual. When used in combination with a transponder or PIN, they provide an additional layer of security for areas requiring a high level of protection.

All access rights are based on clearly defined roles and security zones. Every instance of access is logged and can be traced at any time. This ensures a high level of transparency throughout the system.
