Whether in our personal lives or in the business world, the issues of climate change and sustainability are omnipresent.
For ISGUS, sustainability means being considerate in our consumption of raw materials, energy and other treasures of the earth. We want to act as a pioneer and take a step in the right direction every day.
ZEUS® Workforce Management for more sustainability
But we are not the only ones doing something for the environment. Every single one of our customers is also taking a further step towards sustainability with ZEUS® Workforce Management. Not only does our solution put an end to the paperwork involved in recording working hours, but holiday requests can also be processed quickly and easily using intuitive workflows - without any paper at all. And this is just one example of the numerous workflow applications you can carry out digitally. By using our cloud solution, you can also save resources that you would have to provide with an on-premise solution. Another milestone in the conservation of scarce resources.
Sustainability is not an option for us, but an obligation.
Sustainable. Innovative. Successful.
It's not just our ZEUS® solution that is sustainable - our terminals also help to conserve resources. Thanks to the proximity of our suppliers, hardware resources are procured via short transport routes. In this way, we not only support manufacturers in the region, but also reduce the emissions that would be caused by long transport routes. Our purchasing department always endeavours to use local suppliers wherever possible.
When producing our terminals, we not only pay attention to the proximity of suppliers - production takes place locally in Villingen-Schwenningen.
Our subsidiary - ISGUS-bavaria - has been awarded with the ISO 14001 environmental certification.
What are the important factors for certification?
The hardware components from ISGUS can be associated with Green IT.
This means that our terminals can reduce power consumption by up to 70% thanks to an intelligent and controllable energy-saving mode. As an ISGUS customer, you not only make a contribution to environmental protection, but also save costs - a win-win situation. In addition, we use voltage converters in our access terminals that achieve an efficiency of up to 95%.
ISGUS goes full throttle for the environment
Photovoltaic systems are a key factor in reducing CO₂ emissions, as they convert sunlight into clean energy and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. ISGUS is equally committed to sustainability: Since October 2024, all suitable rooftop areas have been equipped with high performance photovoltaic modules. This enables the company to increase its energy independence while actively contributing to climate protection. ISGUS demonstrates how modern corporate infrastructure and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. The photovoltaic system at the ISGUS headquarters in Villingen Schwenningen covers a total area of 900.97 m² and consists of 551 modules, each measuring 1.63515 m². Since its commissioning, the system has already helped save 100,000 kg of CO₂ by the end of 2025. The electricity generated is equivalent to the amount of energy required for an electric vehicle to travel approximately 719,000 kilometres.
To further increase the use of self generated solar energy, ISGUS expanded its existing photovoltaic system with an M TEC ENERGY ROCK battery storage solution featuring an integrated backup power supply. The system provides 289 kWh of storage capacity and 125 kW of charging and discharging power and has been AC coupled to the existing photovoltaic system and inverters. The solution is complemented by the M TEC Energy Management System, which intelligently controls energy flows and optimises the use of surplus photovoltaic energy. An integrated backup power supply with a switchover time of less than 10 milliseconds, scalable up to 500 kW, provides an additional level of operational reliability. As a result, ISGUS is able to utilise a significantly larger share of its self generated solar power directly on site, sustainably reduce its dependence on the public electricity grid, and further enhance the reliability and resilience of its energy supply.
