Part of the Food Manufacturers series
Just walk in? Not quite. Food production has its own rules: hygiene zones need to be protected, access needs to be controlled and every employee needs to be in the right place at the right time. This is exactly where ZEUS® comes in. From the access terminal to hygiene-controlled production areas, access permissions can be managed digitally and documented in a transparent and traceable way. This keeps out anyone who needs to stay out, while ensuring your production continues to run reliably inside.
In food production, security does not begin in the hygiene zone. Right at the entrance, it needs to be clear who is entering the company, which areas they are allowed to access and which permissions apply. With terminals such as the IT 4100 SP, IT 402 and IT 4110, ZEUS® Access Control provides secure identification and individually defined access rights. This turns the first interaction at the door into a controlled process that extends throughout the entire company.
Employees should not have to search for keys or access cards when their shift begins. With keyless access, ZEUS® provides modern and convenient access to authorised areas. Depending on the application environment, different technologies and reader options can be used. The IT 4211 series and IT 4211 FP, for example, offer modern options for secure identification. This keeps doors open to authorised personnel while keeping unauthorised persons out.
Different requirements often apply between changing rooms, hygiene airlocks and production areas. Hygiene airlocks can be used as controlled transitions to secure access to particularly sensitive areas. In combination with ZEUS® access terminals, for example, it is possible to define which employees are authorised to enter specific production zones. This makes Access Control an important component of a structured and hygiene-controlled production process.
Production employees, shift managers, cleaning staff, maintenance personnel and external service providers have different responsibilities and therefore require different access rights. ZEUS® enables access permissions to be assigned according to employee, role, area or time-based requirements. If an employee changes location or takes on a different shift, the relevant permissions can be adjusted accordingly. This keeps access rights up to date while reliably protecting sensitive areas.
Access control should do more than simply open or keep doors closed. With the ZEUS® Security Monitor, those responsible can keep an eye on security-relevant events. Access events and incidents can be displayed transparently and traced. Combined with the IT 4100 SP, IT 402, IT 4110 and IT 4211 access terminals, this creates a consistent information foundation. Unusual events become visible more quickly, allowing those responsible to respond in a targeted manner.
The key factor is not the individual door, terminal or hygiene airlock. What matters is how everything works together. ZEUS® connects the IT 4100 SP, IT 402, IT 4110 and IT 4211 series with keyless access, hygiene airlocks and the ZEUS® Security Monitor to create a comprehensive access control concept. From the initial access point at the factory gate and controlled transitions through to sensitive production areas, different security levels can be implemented in a targeted manner. The result is a solution that guides employees safely through the facility, protects hygiene-sensitive areas and keeps day-to-day production running without unnecessary disruption.
This is precisely what is prevented. With ZEUS®, access rights can be tailored specifically to individual areas. In combination with hygiene airlocks, sensitive passageways can be further secured. This transforms a simple door into a controlled access point.
Yes. External service providers, cleaning staff and visitors can also be granted defined and time-limited access rights. This ensures that external individuals only have access to the areas they actually need. Once the authorisation has expired, access is restricted again accordingly.
Access rights can then be adjusted accordingly. Staff can be granted different levels of access depending on their role, place of work or time constraints. This is particularly useful in companies with rotating shifts, seasonal staff or frequently changing production areas.
The ZEUS® Security Monitor provides transparency in this regard. Access and security-related events can be monitored and tracked centrally. This means that those responsible do not have to go hunting for various pieces of information before they can clarify a situation.
