2020 - a year in which digitalisation undoubtedly received a massive boost. When the lockdown began, hardly any company managed without a home office and digital tools for planning and managing work and working hours. Even now that the second wave has reached us, some companies are still facing major challenges, or are facing them again, because the corresponding infrastructure has to be created first. Above all, financial hurdles have to be overcome. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is therefore supporting the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises with a new funding programme: "Digital Now".
The aim is to prevent companies from stalling or having to completely cancel digital projects on which their competitiveness and future security depend due to the Corona crisis. The funding programme supports companies with subsidies for investments in digital technologies and in the qualification of their employees. It is clear that digitalisation opens up new economic opportunities and digital technologies enable improved work and production processes.
